I was just notified by the AFA (American Family Association) that April 25 has been designated as a DOS (Day of Silence) in schools (there is a long list of schools but how many are sanctioned by the authorities and how many are just student demonstrations is not known) sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network.
The AFA is suggesting (urging, actually) that parents find a way to keep their children home if their school is involved.
Acc. to the AFA the day is meant to teach that homosexual behavior is not a bad thing and should be accepted.
Now let me say, I am not a homophobe. I am not about to preach against homosexuals. But I resent the push lately to make homosexuals special people. I think everything should be done to prevent abuse. My attitude is "live and let live" but don't push it down my throat. Don't beat up homosexuals or discriminate against them. But the effort by the homosexual community to keep
pushing it through movies, music, and demonstrations is getting to be too much.
To have a day set aside to convince young people that homosexuality is "normal" is over the top.
I have heard that this is being taught in elementary school but haven't had any actual evidence of it.
It's time to tell them to sit down and shut up! I appreciate their desire to keep from being abused but that does not give them a license to take over the country.
