Great News!!!

ACORN (with a history of voter fraud charges in the last election cycle and accusations of embezzlement) is a "national partner" with the U.S. Census Bureau in conducting the 2010 Census!!
Spokesman Scott Levenson says, "ACORN, as an organization, has not been charged with any crime."

Joining with 250 national partners including Target and the NAACP, ACORN will be hiring workers around the country.

Census Bureau spokesman Stephan Buckner says, "the Census Bureau is non-partisan, non-political, and dedicated to an accurate count."

Now stop laughing!   This is serious!!  Anyone willing to bet on the outcome of the 2010 Census???

When Your Hut's on Fire

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island.  He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him.
Every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.
Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements, and to store his few possessions.
One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, with smoke rolling up to the sky.  He felt the worst had happenend, and everything was lost.
Stunned with disbelief, grief, and anger, he cried out, "God!  How could you do this to me!!"
Early the next day, he was awakened by the sound of a ship approaching the island.  It had come to rescue him.
"How did you know I was here?"  asked the weary man of his rescuers.
"We saw your smoke signal, " they replied.
The moral of this story:  It's easy to get discouraged when things are going bad, but we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of our pain and suffering.
Remember that the next time your little hut seems to be burning to the ground.  It just may be a smoke signal that summons the Grace of God.

Conference on Climate Change

The 2009 International Conference on Climate Change is meeting with 80 scientists ready to express their skepticism.           http://www.heartland.org/events/NewYork09/newyork09.html

There are more than 800 scientists (the elite of the world) who are skeptics.  Will someone send Obama and Gore invitations.

Democrat contest for Billboard

I just read where the Dem. Nat. Comm has a contest going on to get ideas for a billboard for Rush's 'hometown".  The item suggested going to the site and submitting entries that praise Rush. :-))  So I went to the Committee website.  I couldn't find the right link to submit my suggestion  (do you suppose they got more Pluses than Minuses?? and shut it down?).  So I sent them a note.  (At least they had a link to do that...the Rep Nat. Comm has no such link!)
I said  something to this effect:
" I am a former teacher so when I heard about the planned billboard I recognized the repartee out on the playground.  Since the typical Dem voter has a reading comprehension of about 5th grade a cute quip on a billboard should really be appreciated.
While we have put up with liberal slanted news and commentators for years, I can understand why it is so difficult for you to accept criticism.  But FREE SPEECH is in the    CONSTITUTION.  You remember the CONSTITUTION, don't you?  Oh , right ...that is the document that can be "changed"

I don't expect an answer but it felt good saying it!  LOL

this will make you sick

According to former labor secretary Robert Reich:  (quoted in the Patriot)

"President Obama's new budget is, well, audacious--not just because it includes several big, audacious initiatives (universally affordable health care, and a cap--and-trade system for coping with global warming, for starters) but also because it represents the biggest redistribution of income from the wealthy to the middle class and poor this nation has seen in more than 40 years. ...It's about time a presidential budget unequivocally redistributed income from the very rich to the middle class and poor. ...Fairness is at stake but so is the economy as a whole.  This Mini Depression is partly the result of a widening gap between what Americans can afford to buy and what Americans, when fully employed, can produce.  And that gap is in no small measure  due to the widening gap in incomes, since the rich don't devote nearly as large a portion of their incomes to buying things as middle- and lower-income people.  The rich, after all, already have most of what they want."

This left me speechless.    He is bragging!!!  Why is class warfare so vital to the Dems?   I heard Neal Boortz this morning explaining that the whole program is to get control of the people.  If they control the education and the health programs they control the people of this country.  Great future coming!!   :-(((

Obvious to Conservatives

   from the Patriot.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot help small men by tearing down big men.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot lift the wage-earner by pulling down the wage-payer.
You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich.
You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot establish security on borrowed money.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away men's initiative and independence.
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should
                                   do for themselves!
By Presbyterian minister William J.H. Boetcker (1873-1962)

Will our "coach" win the game?

"It's play-off time in the NFL and a number of coaches have been fired because their teams didn't make the grade.  It's interesting to see how these teams look for new coaches.  They seek experienced successful leaders who have proved they have mastered the game.

Meanwhile Americans have elected a rank amateur to the biggest "coach" position in the world.  Is this not the biggest sucker bet in our lifetimes?

And we gave this "coach" a guaranteed four-year contract!  Come January the "game" will be on and all our chips will be invested in one player, a mediocre politician who sold us "owners" a bill of goods.

Unlike the NFL we not only could lose the "game" but our fortunes...and our lives."   (to a man taking on his very first real job!)

This was a comment on Tony Blankley's column today (Jan. 31) by a person called "Jerseyvet"  The column was excellent, by the way,
as is usual for Tony, one of our best champions.

Top 10 dud predictions

The following link is "stolen" from Jevica's blog but I thought the article was so good I wanted to spread it around.http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,24820442-25717,00.html

I am always waiting for the mainstream public, including PEBO, and all of these misguided "scientists" and non-scientists to suddenly wake up and realize this global warming is a pipedream.  There are many real scientists coming out now with rebuttals, but not enough and not loud enough.
If this is important to you and you wish to spread the article further, please do!!

Bernard Madoff arrested

"Madoff was a major player in Washington poliltics--for the Democrats.  Since 1993, the Madoff clan has donated more than $380,000 to individual politicians and political action committees, including $100,000 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.  In particular,  DSCC head Sen. Chuck Schumer (the other senator from New York) received money from Madoff-- $39,000 for his 1998 and 2004 races.  One will search in vain for such details in Leftmedia stories about Madoff, however.  Apparently, it isn't worth a mention.

Corruption in Chicago? Nah!

from the Patriot Post (and if you don't receive it, find it and sign up!!!)
Chicago columnist Dennis Byrne:  "So, do the rest of you now have some idea of the depth of corruption in Chicago and Illinois, and why some of us were so concerned about electing a president who emerges from this cesspool?...Brazen, appalling , unbelievable, they say.  But for those of us who have spent a lifetime covering the news here, it's how it works."

columnist Rich Galen:   "Reality check:  The chances of House Democrats opening an ethics investigation into either (the junior Jesse) Jackson's or (Rahm) Emanuel's involvement ( in the 'Blago' scandal) is exactly zero. Ethics.  Democrats. Say that three times fast."

ABC news  20/20 anchor John Stossel:  "[Illinois Gov. Rod] Blago.. allegedly assumed someone would be willing to pay dearly to be a U.S. senator.  I'm sure he was right.   But if government were less important in our lives, politicians would have fewer goodies to trade.  In return, we'd have more money and more freedom.  That's one more reason to limit government power."

History of the Global Warming Cult

"the history of the global warming cult over the last decade...accept no challenges, demonize those who question their science, scoff at contradictory data (such as the fact that the temperatures have stopped rising" and insist on politicizing their "science" rather than work from the facts."

like the coldest year in a long time...record temps in the north and midwest, earliest snow in some regions, unlikely snow in others...
When will this all become obvious to those in power?  Will it be before we spend billions (everyone is spending billions these days) on ways to combat something that isn't happening/?
Does anyone feel like we are in Wonderland where everything is upside down and backside to???

Corruption in Govt? Nah!

In the local paper recently a lady complained about Republican corruption being responsible for the increase in the federal debt..no supporting arguments,  no supporting fact.
A gentleman answered with a report on the Democrat's own dirty history.
How about Charlie Rangel and his tax-evasion problems?
How about William Jefferson, D.-LA and his cold $90,000 in the refrigerator?
How about another William Jefferson.  W.J. Clinton and his wife, documented for raiding the White house when they left?
(while granting pardons to criminals like Marc Rich in return for what "favors"?
The list of corrupt Dem. is boringly long.   But let me bore you for a few minutes.
The current financial mess clearly, and well-documented, lies in the Carter-launched and Clinton-strengthened "Community Reinvestment Act" which forced banks to make risky loans but underwritten by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, institutions governed by Democrats.
The malfeasance associated with these "bad loans" was covered up by Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Franklin Raines, Maxine Waters, John Kerry , and a host of other Dems in and out of Congress who assured us that all was well.
Raines himself is accused of having walked off with $90 million after cooking Fannie's books to gain obscene bonuses.
(Amazingly, he is/was an informal advisor to Obama?\
The top recipients of "campaign contributions" from Freddie and Fanny were candidates Obama, Dodd, Kerry, and Clinton.  And ACORN, Pres-elect Obama's favorite "community organization." played a key role in strong-arming the banks..
Then-Prez.Clinton is responsible for pushing the banking industry into making bad loans in the 90s.
The Republicans, led by John McCain, tried a few years ago to establish better regulation over Mac and Mae, only to be thwarted by the Dems in Congress.
There are many more cases but enough boredom for the minute.  The Democrats have demonstrated corruption to a remarkable level, even at the very top. and their contribution to the national debt is quantifiable.  It's about $1 trillion and rising.
And to see Frank and Dodd sitting there leading the committee to get us out of this mess is mind-shattering.

Bush Deserves Our Thanks

OK I can hear the groans already, but let Ronald Kessler tell you (as one of the first to redefine Bush) why he wasn't the worst.

I know he made mistakes and that he hasn't been the swiftest in knowing how to reach the people, but here we are on Thanksgiving and facing a president who may turn this country into something we don't want, so let's be thankful for what we have had.
