Mallard Fillmore again

If this isn't the story of Bush's presidential career I don't know what is.
check to make sure the date is Mon. Nov. 17.
It's a joke in my house...whenever something goes wrong the cry is "It's Bush's fault"....now I wonder where we got that idea!
(Sometimes I have trouble getting that site to come wholly in, but I use Refresh and it usually works.)

"Don't Say We Didn't Warn You"

who's to blame for the financial crisis

by Orson Scott Card, Democrat columnist quoted in the Patriot Post.
"These are the facts.  This financial crisis was completely preventable.  The party that blocked any attempt to prevent it was ...the Democratic Party.  The party that tried to prevent it was...the Republican Party.  Yet when Nancy Pelosi accused the Bush administration and Republican deregulation of causing the crisis, you in the press did not hold her to account for her lie.  Instead, you criticized Republicans who took offense at this lie and refused to vote for the bailout!  What?  It's not the liar, but the victims of the lie who are to blame?

Now let's follow the money...right to the presidential candidate who is the number-two recipient of campaign contributions from Fannie Mae.  And after Freddie Raines, the CEO of Fannie Mae who made $90 million while running it into the ground, was fired for his incompetence, one presidential candidate's campaign actually consulted him for advice on housing.  If that presidential candidate had been John McCain, you would have called it a major scandal and we would be gettting stories in your paper every day about how incompetent and corrupt he was.  But instead, that candidate was Barack Obama, and so you have buried this story, and when the McCain campaign dared to call Raines an 'adviser' to the Obama campaign--because that campaign had sought his advice--you actually let Obama's people get away with accusing McCain of lying, merely because Raines wasn't listed as an official advisor to the Obama campaign.  You would never tolerate such weasely nit-picking from a Republican.  If you who produce our local daily paper actually had any principles, you would be pounding this story, because the prosperity of all Americans was put at risk by the foolish, short-sighted, politically selfish, and possibly corrupt actions of leading Democrats, including Obama.

PARODY on why to vote Dem.

This parody is from a colleague of Mark Alexander and quoted in the Patriot:
"I think the government will do a better job of spending my money than I could.
When we pull out of Afghanistan and Iraq, I know the Islamic terrorists will stop trying to kill us.
I believe people who can't tell us if it will rain in two or three days can now tell us the polar ice caps will disappear in a century if we don't comply with Orwellian government economic oversight.
English has no place being the official language in America.
I'd rather pay $4 for a gallon of gas than allow drilling for oil off the coasts of America or in that vast Alaskan wasteland, ANWR.
'Big Oils'five -percent profit on a gallon of gas is obscene, but the government tax of 18 to 35% on the same gallon is just fine.

I believe businesses in America should not be allowed to make profit--it should be confiscated by the government so politicians and bureaucrats can redistribute that profit as the see fit.
I believe guns cause crimes and murder, not the sociopaths using them, and, thus, should be confiscated.
Besides when someone threatens my family, I know the government can respond faster with a call to 911 than I can with a
                   gun in my hand.
It's a right to kill millions of babies while objecting to the death penalty for murderers.
I believe five elitist judges should rewrite the Constitution by diktat to suit Leftist agendas that could never pass proper amendment.

This caricature of the Democratic Party would be humorous if it did not, in fact, reflect its actual platform!

OK I'M BACK

I can't believe Bill Ayers is a college professor!  In spite of reading every Mike Adams column about the vast majority of college and university teachers being liberal.  In spite of seeing polls of those teachers proving the vast majority is left-wing.  In spite of reading about the lack of education in the colleges and universities.
I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT ANY COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY IN THIS COUNTRY WOULD HIRE BILL AYERS!~
See Ann Coulter today (10/23) for a list of other terrorists now teaching our young people!!!
And over 3000 other teachers and professors signed a letter of support for Bill Ayers!!

WHAT IS GOING ON IN THIS COUNTRY???

Barack, the Stranger

Michelle speaks of what a good father, husband, and family man Barack is.  The Godfather was a good father, husband, and family man...that doesn't mean he would have made a good president.
She doesn't speak of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, William Ayers, and Rezco,  all of whom are part of Obama's history.   His association with these people have much more to do with his qualification to be president.  The fact that he is engaging, elegant, brilliant, and charismatic, while bringing adoration, do not make him qualified to be president.

Be Scared!!

" Unless we defeat them, the radical Democrats in Congress will continue to raise your taxes, give amnesty to illegal immigrants, institute a government takeover of health care, roll back welfare reform, and push for passage of their entire special interest-dictated laundry list of left-wing programs."
    from Tom Cole of NRCC
If Obama is elected President he will help them do all of these.
Maybe it's what we deserve...we adults who have allowed all this to happen...who haven't thrown the rascals out of Congress...who have voted for what we could get out of it, not what was good for the country...but future generations don't deserve what we have made for them.

ACORN!!

I'm sure you all know what ACORN is...if I ever heard of it it went right over my head, but now I know.  Jevica has a link to an article telling what's going on and I was appalled...does the country know about it and no one is fighting it?
or go see jev .   http://jevica2003.blogtownhall.com/default.aspx    and use his link.
I have heard of voter fraud through the years but to have an organization that "specializes" in it is unreal.  I always hear of it being Democratic...have the Repubs ever been guilty of the same thing?

Mallard Fillmore again

Mallard reports from the Democrat Conventions where he's surrounded by people shouting "O-BAM-A"
and "Yes, we can!"
But then he decides enough is enough and he moves out of the Press Box.

Love that Millard Fillmore

Ques.   Sir, can you tell me why you're supporting Senator Obama?
Ans.     My sense of personal responsibility.  He's going to take it off my hands.

    Ques.   Won't you miss it?
Ans.     Nah, I never could figure out how to use the darn thing anyway.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
   Supposed quote from Obama.
The public schools are failing our children
School vouchers work...but I need the support of the teachers' unions...
So I've come up with a compromise position  :  OPPOSE VOUCHERS  but keep sending my kids to private schools.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Another "fake" quote from OB
OK I know the D.C. school voucher program has been a huge success for minority kids...
But I have to oppose it because...........
               You know...The people want CHANGE!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are a husband and your wife gets pregnant and, at some point, she says to you  "I can feel it move!"  and you put your hand on her stomach and you feel a movement....and you know it is the life you two have formed ...and you still don't know that that is a life in there ......?
well, maybe he has a point....at which second did that fetus go from being a mass of cells to the form we accept as humanity...
was it when the head was formed?  or when the little fingers and toes moved?  or when the brain found its shape inside the skull?  or was it when the sperm found its target and joined the ovum to start the whole process.
More important from Obama's point of view  ..."what will my pro-abortion voters want me to say?"

I have to give McCain credit ...Damn the torpedoes and full speed ahead.

Break from Politics

                          Haircuts All Around

A man and a little boy entered a barbershop together.  After the man received the full treatment--shave, shampoo, manicure, haircut, etc.--he placed the boy in the chair.  "I'm going to buy a green tie to wear for the parade, " he said.  "I'll be  back in a few minutes."
When the boy's haircut was completed and the man still hadn't returned, the barber said, "Looks like your daddy's forgotten all about you."
"That wasn't my daddy," said the boy.  "He just walked up , took me by the hand, and said, "Come on, son, we're gonna get a free haircut!"

Middle age is that perplexing time of life when we hear two voices calling to us, one saying, "Why not?" and the other saying, "Why bother?"

             New Fathers
A group of expextant fathers sat nervously in the hall.  A nurse beckoned to one of them and said, "Congratulations, you have a son!"
Another man dropped his magazine, jumped up and said, "Hey, what's the idea?  I got here two hours before he did!"

                 Pony Express
At a Milwaukee post office a woman complained to the clerk that a Pony Express rider could get a letter from Milwaukee to St. Louis in two days, and now it takes three.  "I'd like to know why," she scoffed!.
The clerk thought for a moment, then his face brightened and he replied, " The horses are a lot older now?"

OK you can go back to stewing about the campaign again!
