Patriot Post

If you are already acquainted with the Patriot Post, you are excused from this lesson .  :-))
For the rest of you,  I receive emails from Patriot Post regularly and I print them, (4 pages or 9) and read them off line.  They are compilations of quotes from sages, both present and past.  The one I got today was so good I wanted to share it.  But it's 4 pages and I don't have the patience to put that all in here.  So, if you are a conservative and enjoy reading what other conservatives have to say you can get a free subscription.   The address is :  http://PatriotPost.US/subscribe/
I recommend it highly.  The Gipper is one that they quote often. :-))

Stupid government? Nahh!!

I keep thinking this government can't get any more stupid and then something new happens.
We got a letter yesterday telling us we would get money back.  Why did we have to be notified?
Then today in the paper I find that it is costing $41.8 million to send out these letters.  130 million households are being alerted!  But that's not all!  There's another round of mailings for those who didn't file tax returns but still qualify to get a check!
I'm so glad we are awash with money so we can afford all these idiocies.

Repubs not turning out

In an article by Bobby Earle titled "The Numbers Don't Lie"  he shows by the numbers that Republicans are not turning out to vote.
He points out that Obama is appealing to the young people with the cry of "hope and change" and the uneducated don't know what he stands for...just "hope and change"...no clue to his politics.  The Democrats have an energized electorate and the Republicans are staying home.    If this doesn't change there is no doubt of the outcome.  For the numbers and to read his article go to:http://www.gopusa.com:80/theloft/?p=672

April 25...DOS

I was just notified by the AFA (American Family Association) that April 25 has been designated as a DOS (Day of Silence) in schools (there is a long list of schools but how many are sanctioned by the authorities and how many are just student demonstrations is not known) sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network.
The AFA is suggesting (urging, actually) that parents find a way to keep their children home if their school is involved.
Acc. to the AFA the day is meant to teach that homosexual behavior is not a bad thing and should be accepted.
Now let me say, I am not a homophobe.  I am not about to preach against homosexuals.  But I resent the push lately to make homosexuals special people.  I think everything should be done to prevent abuse.  My attitude is "live and let live"  but don't push it down my throat.  Don't beat up homosexuals or discriminate against them.  But the effort by the homosexual community to keep
pushing it through movies, music, and demonstrations is getting to be too much.
To have a day set aside to convince young people that homosexuality is "normal" is over the top.
I have heard that this is being taught in elementary school but haven't had any actual evidence of it.
It's time to tell them to sit down and shut up!  I appreciate their desire to keep from being abused but that does not give them a license to take over the country.

Pensive thoughts

Husband, who turned 86 yesterday, was saying regretfully last night , "We should be a happy, peaceful nation.  We have so much."
I agreed but then got thinking about why we're not.  First of all, in this country few people are satisfied.  The poor want more for nothing. The wage earners want more money.  The wealthy want more money.  The athletes want more money (after all, what's great about
$2 mill.).  Everyone wants more, more, more and bigger, bigger, bigger.  Second, we have a government that gets bigger and bigger and wants to run our lives, and a political party which wants to make sure it happens (that's a chapter I won't get into at the minute)  Third.  we have a group of people who want to either convert us or kill us.
We saw a show about which country is happiest and it came out to be Denmark.  The individuals they talked to didn't realize it , but the conclusion was that their expectations were low so they were more easily satisfied.  The American attitude has always been go-go, aim high, reach for the stars...and when, individually, we don't make it, we are dissatisfied.
So, I guess we should be pleased there are as many happy peaceful people as there are in the country.

Quotes from a Liberal

The local paper is as far left as the NY Times.  One of the editorial writers is far left of that.  But he said a few truths this moring....
"A Democrat running against a Republican this year--any Democrat, whether black, female, androgynous Klingon or three-legged centaur--should have been guaranteed victory. "  "The McCain campaign must be licking ts fangs, its work already half-done by Democrats."
and he finished the article with "...when hope for a more recognizably just America turns to desperation, something has already gone drastically, indefensibly wrong."
I've been laughing all day.   Poor guy.
Now it will be interesting to see if it still goes on.  Heard Rush has been encouraging voters to switch parties and vote for Hillary so that she and Obama will go on fighting each other while McCain relaxes.

Crawfish!

OK I suggested you go to see Peppermint.  Now go see Crawfish!!  For those conservatives feeling left behind
by the Republican Party, take the time to read what we all stand for.  It's in 3 parts and every part is legit.
http://constitutionalcrawfish.blogtownhall.com/default.aspx       I bow low to both Crawfish and Peppermint (and
Goshawk, of course!)  Their clear thinking is awesome!!

Beware of Obama

If you are beginning to think Obama is anything approaching good, see Peppermint's blog.
The first post and the third post .  Is she right?  Do we have that much to be afraid of?

Tax Act (H.R, 5351)

Another great idea from the geniuses in Washington:  Raise taxes on "Big Oil" by $18 billion, the money to, supposedly, be used to boost incentives for alternative energy.  Our gas prices haven't gone high enough yet...they are working on $4 a gal and that ought to do it.
Democrats can't accept the fact that private enterprise can do a better job of finding alternative energy.  But Congress has to get its nose into everything whether it's the federal government's business or not.

Obama's giveaway

Great news!!  We are not giving away enough money to countries all over the world!  Obama has proposed a bill which pledges $845 billion (from American taxpayers, naturally) between 2009 and 2015 to the United Nations Millenium Development initiative.  This money is to be given, by the United Nations, please note, to cut extreme poverty in half by 2015.   The fact that all of the money we have poured into poverty-stricken nations so far has not made them rich or that the United Nations is not noted for honest, unembezzling handling of funds .....well, we must just ignore the facts, right?  But when Nancy Pelosi gets her wish to tax the evil oil companies and reverse the tax benefits for the rich ....well, then we will have plenty of money, won't we? Won't we??????

Quote from Reagan

in the Patriot Post:  "We grew from that small, weak republic which had as its assets spirit, optimism, faith in God and and unshakeable belief that free men and women could govern themselves wisely.  We became the leader of the free world, an example for all those who cherish freedom.  If we are to continue to be that example--if we are to preserve our own freedom--we must understand those who would dominate us and deal with them with determination.  We must shoulder our burden with our eyes fixed on the future, but recognizing the realities of today, not counting on mere hope or wishes.  We must be willing to carry out our responsibility as the custodian of individual freedom.  Then we will achieve our destiny to be as a shining city on a hill for all mankind to see."
I underlined Obama's code words.  The liberals have no idea how to follow this plan or achieve these goals.  Their only thought is to get enough people dependent on government who will vote to keep them in power.

Nina May article

A great article by Nina May in Town Hall today comparing what happens to Democrats who "sin" versus Republicans who "sin".    For ex. Barney Frank vs. Larry Craig,  Tom Delay vs. William Jefferson (the $90,000 in the freezer?)  .
George Allen, a promising candidate for Pres. ruined by one word!    Newt Gingrich vs. Bill Clinton.     The treatment is so warped as to be ridiculous.  Democrats get a pass time after time...Republicans get drummed out of town...and GO!!
The treatment of Clarence Thomas, Condi Rice, and Michael Steele ...disgraceful.  Alan Keyes, in spite of his intellect, articulate ability and passion for a country he loves, is ignored by the media.
Nina goes on with other points...take a few minutes to read her article if you haven't already.  She's on TownHall.com, as you bloggers know, along with all the other columnists.

Pelosi

Anyone heard about the taxes Mrs. Pelosi wants to place on us retirees??  Good grief!
All these Republicans running for the hills (of course I don't blame them...after the mess they have made of the budget they are probably afraid of being caught and hanged) and giving the Democrats a chance to increase their majority .  All we need is  a Democrat president and the climb in gas prices will look like a bargain by the time they get through raising taxes.              And of course she stopped the ability to listen in on conversations by the terrorists...a real statesman there!  So who cares what plans the terrorists are making ?  When the next attack comes she will not take any of the blame.     What's good for the country comes in a poor second to making Bush look bad.
